Delivery Method Teaching is blended with online learning resources available via Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) - Moodle. Classes are usually held on one of our modern and well-equipped campuses at Limehouse. 

Programme Overview:  

Studying our HND in Health Care Practice (Integrated Health and Social Care) will help you gain the practices needed to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals. 

The HND in Health Care Practice will give you a good basis for the Healthcare Industry, allowing you to explore a range of modules. The course is designed to develop students into professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the healthcare sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them. 

The key aim is allowing students with the Health Care Practice skills, knowledge and the understanding necessary to achieve high performance in the global health and social care environment. In addition, students will be provided with insight and understanding into the diversity of roles within the healthcare sector, recognising the importance of collaboration at all levels. 

The Pearson HND in Health Care Practice (Integrated Health and Social Care) course is ideal for those who would like to gain the first two years of a Health Care Practice degree, and then move onto a 1-year top-up at university to gain a full bachelor's degree.

Requires 240 credits, of which 120 credits are at Level 4 (7 units) and 120 credits are at Level 5 (7 units).

Entry Requirements: 

For students who have recently been in education, the entry profile is likely to include one of the following: 

  • A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (or related subject) 
  • A GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at A* to C (or equivalent) and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) in subjects such as math’s and English. 
  • Other related Level 3 qualifications  
  • An access to Higher Education Diploma from an approved further education institution 
  • Relevant work experience, or an international equivalent to the above qualifications. 

Our Recognition of Prior Learning policy means that students’ previous learning and experience can be taken into account, and they may be awarded certain qualifications or units of a qualification based on that learning or experience.  

English Language Requirements:  

Applicants applying for all our qualifications, which are taught and assessed entirely in English, need English language skills. 

Non-native English speakers who have not carried out their final two years of schooling in English should demonstrate ability at a standard equivalent to: 

  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2 
  • PTE Academic 51, or 
  • IELTS 5.5 (reading and writing must be at 5.5 

We assess the level of English as part of the selection process using a written statement and an interview.
